But Montgomery County still has those socialistic government built roads. Light rail is no more socialistic than roads, since both are built by government with tax dollars. The gas tax doesn't even cover maintenance costs these days, much less construction of roads.

Omaha is much too progressive with tons of cool stuff including BRT and is looking forward to the addition of streetcars (or those trams that the OP dislikes) next year. No place for more trolls in Omaha.

If you're looking to garage a Porsche 911 and a Ford F350, a normal garage won't cut it.

Move outside of the city in the middle of nowhere. You'll have to live somewhere with enough space.

In the city, I'd tell you to move to Sugarland where the schools are of incredible quality. But would you be comfortable where average citizens are Indian and Chinese doctors and PhD's?

I think it would be best for you to move into the middle of nowhere. Buy a lot of land with the money you would spend on a house in a city. That is the only way you are going to avoid most ‘socialism’. Although you will have to drive lots of miles on nightmare socialist government highways (yuck!) to get the necessities.

I don't care about race of anyone. What I don't want is a subway train or any train getting expanded near me. I heard in Houston people hate trains cause it represents European socialism. Cause in NYC they want to make more subways and introduce congestion pricing.

Houston people don't hate trains, and they are going to expand. You might want to look at somewhere like Mentone in West Texas. Or Wink. No socialist trains there.

If you're concerned about congestion pricing, don't be - that'll never happen in Houston or anywhere in TX. I'd be surprised if it sticks around for long in NY, so many from both the left and right hate it.

If you're concerned about congestion pricing, don't be - you'll see a superhighway in Venice before you see congestion pricing in TX. I'd be surprised if it sticks around for long in NY, so many from both the left and right hate it.

I prefer the subway when in NYC, it is efficient, on schedule, and absolutely by far the fastest and most reliable way to travel any distance. As such, you can effectively plan daily commutes on subways/ trains much easier than you can on ground modes. Uber and taxis are O.K for short distances.

Thus, I really don’t see the need for congestion pricing to disincentivize driving in NY as ground transportation is already virtually prohibitive. For folks not familiar with NYC driving and parking just try it and you’ll quickly discover the subways and trains are not a socialist plot, but a way of life and an absolute necessity to every pursuit in the tri-state area. NY couldn’t survive longer than a fish out of water without ‘em.

OP, you definitely won’t be flying or zipping around on highways here as you expect. Hope you enjoy your Porsche and F350 because you’ll be doing a lot of sitting in them while idling in Houston traffic.
