I am hearing more rap music being blasted at deafening level from gangster wannabes driving gas guzzlers on the streets lately. This is not a good sign. Mark my words. Houston is Florence and South Central in the making.

Uh....what part of town did you say you live in again?

And let me get this straight - rap music played loud equals decay?

Lately? That has been happening for the past... oh, 20 years or so?

Well I guess I'm a thug, then. I have a 10 in my big body ride, but it gets 25 mpg highway.

But saying it's been happening for 20 years sounds about right. Beginning w/ the 2 Live Crew - Miami bass era. You know you're in H-town when you're sitting at a traffic light, someone rolls up and your mirrors and body vibrate to codeine-laced, screwed bass. Or one evening you're sitting on your couch and the pictures rattle on the walls. City or suburbs, doesn't matter. But I seem to think it was worse several years ago, along with riced-out cars. A loud stereo really doesn't mean anything here other than #1- someone's deaf and #2- someone's asking to get their "music" stolen and sold out of someone's trunk in a parking lot.

I hear the rap with the vibrating speakers too. Especially on weekend nights. As someone else said, it isn't really anything new. And I really don't notice it being on the increase. If you are hearing more of it, maybe your neighborhood is in transition. Just sayin.

What are you doing trolling the suburban mall areas?

I'll give you the benefit of the doubt, but if anyone honestly thinks it's only happening in the suburban mall areas, they need to get out more.
