We are relocating to Houston later this year. I am determined to buy newly built house with good schools a must. Where should I turn for a 3000 sq ft dream house with budget <350k?

My neighbor just built a 3700 sp ft house in the SE area for $300K. The school district is Clear Creek. I hear it's good. You can easily build a nice house in an outer-lying area.

There are so many builders offering deals on new homes right now. Maybe if you tell us what area of town you are interested in, we could help. Also, try different builder's websites:

check out:
Houston Home Builders - Royce Builders: Houston, Texas

Too many builders to list!

Thank you all for help. Here is the thing: we dont know where the job will be. Since we dont plan to move there till later this year, we havent started looking for job yet. I just feel I should study more and know more about what to/not to expect there. Good schools are a must for my young daughter. Being good, I mean exemplary.

All the places Icon listed have good schools. All all of them have a huge inventory of new homes in that price range. By next year, with gas going the way it is, you will get even better deals.

Also with gas going the way it is, you want to be very close to work.

HOUSTON=GET JOB FIRST... THEN HOUSE.

This city is enormous, and you don't want to be living on one side and working on another.

If you are going to be working in downtown and either use Metro or Carpool, then you can live in a 'burb that has access to these.

I know people that work in Deer Park and Live in Katy, that is a 100+ miles a day. that is $16-$20 in gas a day with the average car. You do not want to do that :P
