I have heard there is a very active mom's group in Houston Heights. I am just about to move there from out of state and wondered if anyone knew how to get connected to them.

Does anyone have and other contacts for local mom/family connections in the city?

Thanks.

You can find mom's groups through yahoo groups and meetup.com -- I don't know the name of the Height's group anymore because we live in Katy now. Sometimes you just need to get lucky because the groups might be closed to new members if they feel that they they have too many members at this time. You can check out "Moms club" and MOPS. There is a monthly magazine called Houston Family that will have a calendar of activities. Also the Houston Public library branches do weekly storytime and that's a good place to meet moms.

Here's a link to Houston Heights. org. HOUSTON HEIGHTS
I really did not see anything for the Mom's group, but maybe this would be a good starting point for you.

There is a very large, active mom's group. I heard that you have to be "invited" to join, and attend an event, in order to become a member. I bet that once you move here, you will quickly meet someone from the group, who can extend an invitation to you. I've met several people from the group and they're very nice & friendly.
