I'm in touch with an Apt. complex on Gulfbank. There's just my mother, 88, and myself, 65, retired, so commute is not a problem . My question is, what is the general feel of this area? Also, if anyone residing in

TRAILS OF INWOOD APARTMENTS
5300 West Gulf Bank Rd
Houston, TX 77088

reads this or is familiar with this peoperty, how do you like living there? This move is my final move, as I have no family here in Jacksonville, Fl., or none that cares to help with my mother, and I do in Houston. Any input will be deeply appreciated. I plan to move by October 1st. '08, so time is of the essence.

The apartments in the Inwood Forest area tend to be rough, to say the least. There are some nice homes back in there, but the apartments, I would say no.

As an alternative, there are a couple of older but nice complexes on either side of the Champions Village shopping center on 1960. You could walk to the shopping center if you had to and have grocery, drug, clothing stores, restaurants, etc. all right there. I think that would be a much better option. A lot of places offer Senior Discounts.

Just curious as to why you don't rent a house in the area? We own a rental around the area, and the neighborhood is definitely much better and safer than the apartments around there. People are working class folk and it just seems much nicer. Our rental there has been rented non-stop and never had problems with the tenant or the area. The neighborhood is called Willow Run

Just stay away from Acres Homes. Its around the Little York/Veterans Memorial area, also in 77088. We had a property we bought and sold in the area, and let me just say that I'm glad it sold!
