I am coming in to IAH at 8am tomorrow and need to drive down to the league city area. What is the fastest way to get there considering traffic? I know traffic will probably be bad on 59-S to 45-S, what is the traffic like on the sam houston tollway? Would that be fast to take it all the way to the south side to 45?

By the time you actually leave the airport, rush hour should be trickeling down. Probably easy to take 58 to 45S. Take beltway 8 (eastward) around to 45 south is also possible but you will have several lights until you get to Hwy 90, then you will have two toll booths (at the bridge and just before 45). Probably about the same either way. Keep in mind that once you get off 59 and head onto 45 S you will be moving against rush hour and the traffic is not too bad (generally).

8am? Go get a roll of quarters and do the tollway as Poltracker said. It'll be free through the northeast side of town. Then it's $2 at the bridge and another $1.50 before you hit I-45. It's worth the money.
