We are a family of 4 (children aged 9 and 4) who may be relocating to Houston through a work transfer. We have done our due diligence through on line real estate sites and have settled on The Woodlands as our first choice. We are relocating from Canada. Our biggest concerns are schools and crime rates. We have read many positive comments about The Woodlands. We would appreciate any feedback on these topics. As well, we would also appreciate any information on cultural and quailty of life aspects for this area.

Thanks for your help, eh!!

I live in the Woodlands, I dont have children (yet) but I have heard great things about the schools by my neighbors. As far as safety, I have no problem running at 10 PM. Violent crime is practically unheard of here. It does happen every now and then but definately not the norm.

The Woodlands does have it's fair share of property crimes. Whenever your in a more affluent area, your going to attract the burglars, and car thieves. I think that is unavoidable.

Quality of life is really good. You have a mall, movie theater, numerous restaurants, and golf course within a few mile of where you live. Market street is a great place to loiter with the family and take in the shops and cafes.

I dont regret buying here.
