I was thinking about moving to houston from LV now that Ike has hit how long will it be to get back up to speed. what will it do to the Houston economy and jobs. I am in the IT field and am very concerned about the devastation and if I will be able to find employment and housing

If you are into construction there are probably many new opportunities that have been created because of the storm.

Have you seen Craigslist under "skilled jobs" wanted? There are dozens and dozens of Roofers jobs available, some offering bonuses. Glass companies will be advertising next. Clean up companies will be looking for help. The whole story is yet to be played out.
