Well, I can tell you that almost all barbecue in Houston is gonna be pretty good, if not downright awesome....but here are a few of my faves:

The Swinging Door (off of F.M. 359 near Richmond/Rosenberg)
Goode Company (I-10W, Kirby Drive)
Rudy's (I-45 N in Spring)
Luling City Market (on Richmond Dr. near Greenway Plaza area)

Thumbs up You're In Good(e) Company

My favorite in Houston is one that I believe is the best in Houston. It's Goode Company. They now have three locations: Kirby, Katy Freeway, and now on U.S. 290 at FM 1960. That one supposedly opens this month. Wonderful smoked meats, jalapeno cheese bread, jambalaya, and the best potato salad in Texas.

Central Texas BBQ in Pearland is awesome. I swear the only reason I gained so much weight during my first pregnancy. Looks like a dive from the outside but super good! Everytime family came to visit when we lived there they would ask to go to Central Texas BBQ. Yum.

I'm with texas7 on this one...Doziers in Fulshear. A few weeks ago, after my sons baseball game in Brookshire, one of the other Dad's said they were going to Doziers down the road. You would never know it by looking at the place. It's part convenience store, part restaurant. Nothing fancy, some wood tables in the back.

Anyway, it's really close to where I live, and I never knew about it till just recently.

If you're in Katy south of I-10, go west on 1093 (westpark tollway, but it's not a tollway west of 99) all the way into Fulshear, bang a right on 359 (Shell gas station on corner). Doziers is a few blocks up on your left.

You can follow 359 all the way north to I-10 on the way home, nice rural highway, great scenery.
