True, I just don't think a fence is gonna stop it in most cases. It isn't like they don't KNOW you have an A/C unit just because it isn't visible If anything, if I was an A/C unit thief, I'd find them behind fences, because then I could dismantle them without an audience.

Most stolen air conditioning units are stolen during construction or whent he house is unoccupied. VERY rarely are they stolen when you actually live in the home.

I'm sure there are cases out there where people have had them stolen, but its usually the exeption.

While my home was being built in Cinco, I was amazed that everything was left out in the open 24/7, no locks on the doors, etc. My bricks sat in the front yard for weeks - no one stole them. sheetrock, lumber, tile, etc was in the open garage - again, not stolen. When my appliances were delivered, again - not stolen. Back home in N.O. all of these things would have disappeared.

when they were building my house everything was also open...the builder paid for it.. they stole the appliances one day...they started putting locks and camera on after that

I didn't see anyone mention Katy, I think most posters were just generalizing about a/c stealing in general.
