Can anyone give me any info. on this builder? How are the units constructed? Good or Bad I would like to know. I am thinking about buying a townhome in Villages of Langham Creek off of Barker Cypress and Little York.

Any insight is appreciated.

I bought a home from Meritage and am happy with it. Their title company/lender is shady though. As with any builder a lot depends on if you get a good construction supervisor.

my friend was building with them, and walked away because of issues....he lost 12K by walking away, but said it was worth it.....his construction manager was a heel.

The townhome was already built. It was owned previously.

Just get a good inspection and you should be fine.

There is an article on the implode-o-meter site in reference to Meritage as well as several other builders being sued by Wachovia.

Hi Chris.

I posted another topic about Meritage and Westheimer Lakes North.
Not sure if you saw it. Are you in or near this community by chance,
or nearby? Is the Meritage home good with energy efficiency and
low power bills? Thanks for your feedback.

I live in Kingwood, Meritage builds all over town. My house is very energy efficient and at 3000 sq ft. The highest bill we had in the summer was around $325 and that is with 6 people in the house. In the winter it was as low as $80. Make sure you get a gas water heater as that helps a lot to keep your bills down.

I heard from my inspector who did a lot of inspections of many builders. He told me to avoid Meritage. I'm glad that I didn't choose this company.
