I'm not certain, but I think Beyonce Knowles-Carter and family have a home here in houston, tx as well as her mom, Tina Knowles. Isn't that awesome. Houston is a melting pot of talented people.

Lol. I've never heard any of those names in that list, except the diver. She was an amateur athlete, all be it a great one, not a celeb.

If you've listened to Arcade Fire's album "The Suburbs", you know there's 0% chance that Win Butler would still be living in The Woodlands. The fact that Arcade Fire are referred to as a Canadian band should give you a hint about where he's based now (Montreal...think he spends some time in NYC too)

"The Suburbs" I think would actually be a very interesting listen for any Houston-area native/resident, given the backstory. Or perhaps for anyone on this site interested in general issues of urban planning. The whole album looks back on his upbringing in what I now know to be The Woodlands (and had previously known was based in general suburban Houston), sometimes with nostalgia but usually rather critically. The album is also quite accessible musically, so even if you're older and if you've never listened to Arcade Fire, I have a hard time imagining that you'd find the music off-putting--if you like rock music generally, you shouldn't have a problem with that disc. I can offhand think of one lyric where Win specifically says "dreamt I drove home to Houston on a highway that was underground", fwiw.

Default best song from aforementioned album

is, IMO, City With No Children...and since that also happens to be the song that contains the lyric I mentioned in my last post, I think it's worth a link:
