Is there a station with music to listen to while going to sleep, relax with? I have CD's but I wondered if Houston had a station for this music.

If there is one thing that Houston is lacking it's radio stations. I drive an hour into Houston every day and the scan is on for the whole hour. No music of any kind, just car commercials and stupid DJs who think they are funny but are not.

There really is only about 6 English speaking stations and they all suck. Relaxing station? How can you relax when obnoxious idiots start screaming that this sale is the biggest and the best one yet....meaning all the previous ones sucked I guess.

When it comes to the radio Houston does not have any stations with electronic music in general (i.e. lounge/lo-fi, etc. or dance/disco/garage). Even folk/indie and other genres are non-existent here on the radio.

I don't know why? I can't believe they would not be demanded enough to cover expenses.

WOW, I am shocked. I thought there would be great music stations. I do have XM radio in the car. We have one for the house too, guess I will have to put that beside my bed. I have a great Bose radio that I play relaxing CD's on at bedtimem but it would be so nice to have lots of different music on the radio.

Thanks for the ideas, I can check out those stations. I don't like Jazz, but I do appreciate that one also.

I love quiet Celtic and the music you would have in a spa for a massage, the kind you really melt with, so relaxing. I just ordered three more CD's on Amazon.

Thank you again. There are so many bad stations, I just thought there may be some quiet ones.

What are those "massage spa" CD's you ordered? I like that kind of stuff too...not that I get to spend much time in a spa.... Not so much into the Celtic unless it's instrumental only, though. The voices wear out their welcome with me after a while....

I feel your pain about the radio stations though...I like the "smooth jazz" type (used to be called "easy listening" but that's deathly to a marketing department .) I think someone mentioned the 90.5...I _think that's the one from Texas Southern Univ? Can be good. Forget it's tag name...the "quiet storm" is a different one, I think that's "Magic 102".

Darn it. I lost my long post.

I bought Steven Halpern CD's, three of them. I got the idea for him after listening to the great music channel on the TV. I didn't feel well last night so I just turned to the TV. I didn't want to mess with my CD player. They played many great ones, I loved Steven Halpern.

You can go to Amazon and search for Music, next box over search for relaxing, spa or sleep music. You can search for harp, cello, piano etc too. Then you can sample the tracks and pick out CD's you like.

The music used for a massage etc. is perfect.

I don't like things in my ears for music, I love the music in the air, ha. You can buy music for the MP3 players too if you want. Fun to do. This music is so relaxing. I love all kinds of music, but love to relax before bed.

There is quite a bit more than 6.
