How is Houston's Chinatown laughable? You can get food there that just as authentic and IMO better quality that most other Chinatown's in any other American city. I've been to Chicago's, San Fran's, Queen's, Boston's (talk about laughable), DC's, Seattle's and Vancouver's (Richmond). I have yet to find better Peking Duck (Peking Cuisine), Dim Sum (HK Dim Sum) and Xiao Long Bao. I've had better beef noodle soup and shaved ice and pearl tea here than I've had in my home country, Taiwan. I've yet to see herbal markets as large and brimming as the two next to Golden Market. I've yet to find larger or more replete Asian markets or found places as unique as Jungle Cafe. And better still, it's more an Asiatown. As Bourdain said, and I agree, you'd be hard pressed to find better pho and banh mi outside of Vietnam, or Malaysian better than at Banana Leaf.

4 blocks, lol. If you're thinking of the one downtown, nobody in the Asian community really considers that the real Chinatown in Houston. Instead, it's the 3 miles from end to end down Bellaire Blvd in Westchase.
