It'll be a while before traffic gets moving on 290, will probably get worse before it gets better. The bulk of Houston's population growth is expected/predicted down 290 between now and 2020 because that is where the most available land is in the Greater Houston area.

The most available land appears to be under 290 and above Westpark Tollway. That is where most of the growth is actually happening now.

yeah I attended a course that include a segment of guest speakers from the city of houston and despite all our traffic woes - seems they are planning for a major influx in population out 290 way due to land availability.

Hempstead Rd will be the new toll road to 290, as is westpark is to 59
