Me and my wife are planning to visit Houston this weekend from Dallas. Please advice on nice and absolute must places that we can visit.

If time permits we are thinking to visit San Antonio and Austin as well and go back to Dallas hopefully by Sunday night

Thanks!

The Kemah Boardwalk is very touristy, but there is a load of stuff to see and do in that area if you can stand a bit of traffic. Also the space center stuff is nearby, but I haven't been to that in decades. The museums are nice, but I expect you have really nice museums in Dallas, too. I am not a big fan of Galveston beaches, but the Strand District can be really fun - museums, restaurants, shops, etc. San Antonio has way more tourist activities than Houston, though.

That is about 12.5 hours of driving to hit all those cities. I don't consider anything in Houston must see, what are your interests? Hermann Park/Rice area is probably where you would want to go all the cultural stuff is there.

Did not visit Houton last weekend as I planned but thinking of visiting Houston/San Antonio/Austin over the long weekend... Looks like the Temp would be in 90's that weekend as well...

Please advice the nice places in Houston that we can cover in 1 day...

Thanks!

LOL my situation is I'm cramming to research what to see in Dallas with wife and kid. I just need to get there to look at a car today or tomorrow.

Maybe you should just skip Houston and go straight to the Kemah/NASA area. Pass by Houston chinatown on your way home

If you are into Art, we have some nice museums. Museum of Fine Art, Contemporary Art Museum, The Menil, Museum of Natural Science, Children's Museum, etc. We also have some of the best restaurants in the country. Houstonians like to eat! A lot of out-of-towner's also like to shop at The Galleria in midtown. But other than that, not much else to see in Houston proper. As mentioned before, NASA, Galveston, Kehma, Moody Gardens are all interesting but outside of Houston.

Personally, I'd head straight to Austin.

Houston: Great place to live, lousy place to visit.

This should be their slogan.

Great place to pucker up for one big vacation out of town, rather than having small weekend getways
