Sounds like the east side got most of the action...

This is also a good time for people to review space heater safety (http://www.khou.com/news/local/stories/khou081211_jj_darling-fire-space-heaters.51f28019.html?npc - broken link).

They must not have lived there very long if they've never seen snow. What about 2004, and earlier snows in the 60s through the 90s.

Beautiful photo! Where was it taken? I have a similar photo taken in Memorial Park after a 3-inch snowfall in 1973, but your photo is better.

Oh, well I forgot about the "native northerners" down there that hate the snow. and especially where 10-12 inches is not uncommon per snow, well I understand why you hate it. Personally, I do not like snow either, despite that we really do not get much snow where I live. 10-15 inches per year on average, but I would just as soon see a couple of snows, then no more, but around here, its rarely on the ground for more than a day or two. I cannot imagine living up north where the snow is on the ground all winter long. How depressing.

We are still awaiting the snow- its just been an all day heavy rain here, but much needed. The system that caused the snow down there today is what will bring us some (maybe) tonight. Its still drizzly and rainy, but awaiting to the colder air to move in, because its still 40° here, but its much colder to the west and its moving in.

Louisiana got hit hard too.... here are some photos....

Better yet....I dont have to sit out in the cold after spending 6 hours shoveling my driveway waiting for the snow plow with a 20 gauge shotgun in my hand. The gun is a deterrant just in case he has ideas about plowing me back in.

What they were saying was it has been 64 years since this happened this early. The last time it snowed this early was 1944. I think I mentioned that already in this thread.

Unfortunately, not all of us got to enjoy the snow in 2004 - I think it mainly stayed south of I-10(?) - I think. Northern Waller County and Western Montgomery County didn't see the snow then - we had freezing rain and sleet. We were too far north for the snow! LOL! Now, that I'm more or less back in Houston, my land in Waller County got the snow and we still didn't get any! Crazy!
