Marq E is only about 15 minutes from AMC 30. I'm not sure exactly where the OP lives but if he often goes to AMC 30 then he can easily go to Marq E.

My only problem with Marq E is that most of the shops and restaurants are dead. But if your going for just the movie then it's fine.

They're trying to revitalize the Marq*E, so that's a plus. It is still pretty packed on weekends.

Imax at the NSM.
Marq E on Silber is "scarey as hell." I won't go there.
Really, Memorial City is one of the few theaters left that I feel comfortable parking and going into.

I miss the theaters on Augusta. Loved that complex.

It may not be the sound, and quality of those, but I loved the AMC 30 out on Beltway 8 and 45. It's awsome on weekdays before night when there is no one there, and there are tons of showtimes.....

How is the Marq*E scary? Especially on a packed weekend night?

What's so scary about it? I was there last week to see Slumdog Millionaire and I didn't see anything scary about it. No different from the other theaters in town.

I guess I should clarify. The parking garage is crazy as hell.
My parents had their car vandalized. Every window broken and keyed.
A good friend was mugged in the garage.

It's just not a happy place after they took away the outdoor parking near the theater.

I personally love the Edwards MarqE theater on Weslyan. Also the Willowbrook AMC 30 theater isn't that bad either...they have nice seats.

I just came back from this. GREAT movie!! It and Dark Knight are tossups for me for Best Movie of 2008.
