All of the above are good recommendations. All of the Museums are good places to go. Catch a theatre show in the theatre district if they like theatre. The Orange Show and Art Car Museum off Washington Blvd. are interesting. The Menil Collection is off W. Alabama and is free. The Rothko Chapel is also very nearby there. Shoud be way more than enough activities for a weekend.

Some food tourist spots could be:
Spec's Warehouse in Midtown
Phoenicia Specialty Foods west of the beltway on Westheimer
Hong Kong Market on Bellaire (this might take all day)

Thanks for all the advice. I didn't see anyone mention George Ranch Historical Park...anyone been there? Worth the time? With it being in Richmond it seems closer and good for an afternoon activity, then dinner out and a drive through Pecan Grove to see the lights on the way home.

We went to the Zoo this morning and it was terrific! Not as big as the Philly zoo but cleaner, and really not crowded at all since we went early. Gorgeous, PERFECT day for it!

If you haven't been to the Galleria Mall yet, check out the waterfall fountains south of the Williams Tower (tallest building in the Galleria area). They look their best at night.
