Hello, I am new to Texas. Where can I find instructions on how to complete application for homestead exemption? Do i need to call Fort Bend county. Thanks for the help.

If you didn't live in the home you are claiming on January 1, 2009, the exemption does not apply to that tax year. Now that you have filed for the exemption and were living in the home on January 1, 2010, you will be able to apply the exemption to your 2010 property tax liability.
There isn't anybody that will fire off a tax refund to you that I'm aware of.
