I think Sam's is $40 and Costco $50...is there any difference between them?

I prefer Costco just for quality and variety of stuff, but there are three Sam's near me and only one Costco that is not exactly convenient. So Sam's does the job I need.

I think sams is slightly cheaper but less of a variety. If I had to chose though, I prefer Sams Club.

I thought membership was cheaper. I swear I remember a time when Sam's was $20 versus $40. Maybe I am imagining things!

new Costco at galleria had a membership promotion going on recently. I signed up (for $50) and they gave $25 cash card on the spot.
We have a Sam's club very close to us but we never go there. Cheap quality and cheap service. the quality of meat at costco is very good; escpecially pork.

Absolutely. We used to live a few miles from Costco's headquarters in Issaquah (WA) and we knew some of their corporate buyers. Costco focuses on quality, not just price.

Sam's, on the other hand, is too much like Walmart to provide a good shopping experience.

We had Costco out in California when I lived there. I always thought the Kirkland brands were much better in quality than Sam's/Wallyworld crap.
I think the memberships were $30 back then. (1994)

I was estatic when they brought Costco to the Houston area - only to be dissapointed in the location (Katy is a good 45 mins away from my side of town)

Yay....my 100th post...LOL

No Costco in Sugar Land...or else I would be a member. They could make a killing in Sugar Land. I would shot holes in my Sam's business membership card and post it on youtube if Costco would come here.
