Castle Rock homes are built (in my opinion) just about the same as the rest. There are a few minor differences but for the most part their all just hired contractors to build a planned frame, then more contractors to come in and insulate it, and so on and so on.
We have not had any major complaints about the Entouch service. The basic internet speed is really fast, i've had bursts of upto 1Mbps acutal download speed with the basic package but the average is in the low hundreds of Kbps.
Got the cul-de-sac lot, cheaped out on the grass (they wanted $3k) now we got lots o' weeds.
+1 on the gas station vote... i always used to take those things for granted.

You consider 1mbps to be "really fast"?
That might have been fast 10 years ago when most people still had dial-up service.
I am currently trying to get out of my contract with Entouch due to the unreliable internet and cable service.

I had 16mbps with Comcast which was nice...with Entouch I am lucky to see 3mbps. I don't download or stream much, but when I do, I like it to work and not stop, load, play, stop, load, play.

I definitely agree that a large lot is the most valuable way to spend your money...you can always upgrade carpet, tile, granite, etc...later. You can never upgrade your lot. So be sure to get the nicest lot that you can, even if that requires a slight downgrade in your interior upgrade budget allocation. I regret not opting for the largest lot and just getting an over-sized lot. Oh well.

I agree lane_change. We had to get an inventory home, so did not have the choice.
We have a corner lot, but if I had the choice; I would take a large lot on a Cul de sac.
You have too much noise from road traffic on a corner lot.

I think teambk09 was referring to 1 megabyte per second (1MBps), the unit of measurement used by browsers and most download programs. 1 megabyte per second = 8 megabits per second (8mbps), twice the speed promised by Entouch (4mbps).

Well, I am happy to say that I am officially no longer with En-Touch.
I signed up with Comcast for $19.99/month for the 1st six months.
I will try to get the same promo deal when the 6 months runs out.
I have been pretty happy so far except for the fact that I am not getting the full speed promised by Comcast.

Default Other Service Providers

Are there other options than Comcast for internet, does AT&T service our community? Personally i'm concerned about using Comcast as they were recently found and sued over throttling/filtering or spoofing seeds and shutting down connections. I have not seen any speed issues with Entouch... yet.

I heard somewhere that all the homes on the right side of the neighborhood when you enter are hooked up with Consolidated.
Not 100% sure about that.
Might be worth looking into.
