I want to plan a romantic night with my hubby...just get out of the city and have some us time. Does anyone have any recommendations of a good intimate hotel or B&B that is not toooo far away from Houston. Maybe 2 hours max. We are looking for a place that is average priced (not cheapy though)...It would be nice if there was a place nearby we could have a nice dinner. Nice scenery and surroundings would be nice too!

Thanks in advance!

Have a friend who has been here several times with his wife. They LOVE it. Not sure of the prices...but he says it's really relaxing.

The Olive Cottage in Galveston. We love it there. LOVE IT! I have talked to the owners since Ike and they had very minimal damage--mostly the landscaping, which they have since replaced.

I would also second Galveston. The weather is nice this time of year and you will do everyone a favor by contributing to the recovery of the island by spending your money there. In any case, I hope it is a great night for both of you!

Try Brenham as well - very close. Southern Rose Ranch or Mariposa Ranch. Both look nice but Dos Brisas is supposed to be the creme de la creme.

Brenham TX Bed & Breakfast, Brenham TX B&B Guesthouse; Chappell Hill, TX B&B; Southern Rose Ranch
Brenham Texas Lodging ~ Romantic Getaways in Texas ~ Mariposa Bed and Breakfast Ranch
The Inn at Dos Brisas
