Poltracker, are you talking about Saturday morning, being on Memorial to watch the riders GO to the parade, and not being at the parade route itself?
Which part of Memorial (e.g. cross street)? And what time is best to watch them go?
Yep! Be there about 1 1/2 hr before the start of the parade. That way you see the horses and riders without all the bands and extra stuff. I always hung out at Montrose but that was before they built some more stuff there. If you want to see the whole shebang...head to the parade route.
Either way it is fun.

oh i'm sorry. cowboys are not magical creatures. theyre regular people stuck in the past, like many parts of Texas and Mexico. is it intentional that their appearance draws peoples attention and amuse them? I dont know. I've seen really ridiculous looking cowboy attire everywhere I go in Houston, now a full month of this circus.
anyway, these 'cowboys' ride on horseback in my neighborhood to promote the event and I've observed that theyre regular farm helper mexicans no different from the guys waiting in front of home depot.

have you heard the truth about the easter bunny and the hare club for men?

We didn't get the memo for newcomers so when we arrived at my children's school this morning, we were surprised that most of the other children were fully decked out in cowboy/cowgirl gear. It was really cute. Next year we will be better prepared.

Yeah if you are a Texas transplant and sort of fascinated with all things Texan - you should really go to the parade at least one time.

Agreed! Rodeo is fun...especially for those of us who had never been around this type of thing.
Traffic on the hand is not....took me over almost an hr. the other day to make a less than 15 min. drive here in ClearLake area! Trail riders stopping over at Bay Area Park and had Bay Area Blvd. backed up for miles!

Saw pictures of the parade,

definetly one of the nations neater ones. Up with the Chicago St. Paty's parade and San Fran's Pride and Chinese New Years ones.

Meanwhile, over here near Reliant, there's three weeks of this to look forward to.

Then again, I know my ways around it...
