Average high in April is 79, average low is 60. If the pool isn't heated, the water is going to be chilly, but you should be fine. April here can vary widely -- chilly evenings followed by muggy warm nights, it just depends. But it will almost alway be warm in the day.

It's pool weather year round in Houston
If it's a public pool, it's most probably heated. And the weather will be gorgeous in April. Happy swimming!

I think the water will be too cold unless it is heated. Our backyard pool is freezing until May unless I heat it. Of course I am a native and will not swim in water under 80 degrees.

We've been swimming in our unheated pool as early as March 10 (2007). Last year was cooler, so it was not until the end of March / early April. Right now our pool is at 61F, so its not going to be an early season this year... but I'd say April is likely.
