FOX 26 News Special Report
Special Education

Announcement by Louis Geigerman:

Since November of 2006, I have been providing you with a heads up on stories relating to special education by KRIV Fox 26 in Houston, Texas.

On the 9 p.m. news, Tuesday, March 10th, 2009 KRIV's investigative reporter Randy Wallace will do a story on special education legal fee abuse by area school districts.

My friends, this very well could be the most powerful story that we have done in the last 29 months and could move mountains. Certainly, this is story that is not unique to Texas. Please mark your calendars for this story.

The station also streams the live video of the newscast on their web site at Houston weather, traffic, and news | MyFoxHouston.com | FOX 26.

If you cannot watch it live, be certain to set your DVR'S!

Once again, it will be aired at 9 p.m. CDT tonight, Tuesday March 10th.

Houston Fox affiliate should be lauded for continuing their stories on special needs kids.

As I mentioned previously it has now been 29 months since the first story aired on their station.

After viewing the story please contact the station and the reporter to show our appreciation.

I sent Randy some information on the SHARS program. That would make a great follow up. The schools charge medicaid for special needs kids for transportation, speech, OT,PT, the time spent at ARDS,etc. The only way for parents to stop this is to write to medicaid demanding the school does not have your permission to charge their child's insurance. I did this and asked for a copy of the charges as soon as I found out about this. Everything is coded so you have no idea what the charges are. I wonder how many parents know this is going on?
