River Oaks Shopping Center :: Retail Leasing :: Weingarten Realty Investors

Here is the plan. It should be open in the fall. There is a new spanish tapas restaurant Tintos opening this summer (where Hunan/Back Door Sushi used to be).

I heard awhile back there was a plan to build some condos too, but I have no idea where they would go...so maybe that was a rumor?

How does everyone feel about the new development in this area? I am just curious.

Mi Luna in Rice Village hasn't failed. It's packed every time I go in there.

I think the destruction of much of the original sections of River Oaks center is terrible. I for one will NEVER shop at the Barnes and Noble that is going in there, won't do it. The condos, if they happened, would be at the expense of the River Oaks theater. Gee, a cool unique spot in Houston, let's tear it down and homogenize it down into something that would look like any other part of Houston, or anywhere USA for that matter.

I'm only mildly bitter over the whole episode....

Hmmm I've never gotten food poisoning from there. Just lucky maybe? I am against the destruction of River Oaks or any historical landmark for that matter. We don't need any more strip centers.

It just takes ONE server, or one under heated/cooked dish, to make several patrons go to the hospital.
