The prices of condos/townhouses in that areas seem low. What's the communte like to major employment areas/downtown, etc.

Any good parks, movie theathers, restaurants in that area? What about safety?

Personally, I think this is going to be a pretty good area to invest in, but right now it's a bit iffy what with all the crime on the SW side of town which is nearby.

On the whole though, it's a quick commute to all of the major employment centers and entertainment venues.

It's got upward potential.

Skyjunky....isn't Medical Center located in this zipcode?

When you said "really unsafe," you mean ghetto unsafe?

The Southwest of zip 77054 are 77025 and 77045. Are these two bad areas?

For example, how bad is this area:

2750 HOLLY HALL ST, Zip code 77054.

There are condos that you can buy in this area with less than $400 montly payment, plus insurnace and property tax, maintenance fees, etc., maybe increase it to 600-650 per month? Still cheaper than renting an aparment with 2 bedrooms.

Is my estimate close enough? How much would one pay for a condo that cost about 70K-100K for property tax, homeowner association fees, and for insurance?

My sister used to live in a condo on Holly Hall. The condos are nice, and close to the freeway, but the area surrounding it is bad. She was mugged at the gas station close to her condo and hit in the face. So I would say that if you pick that area, be very careful once you leave the complex.

love roses, how much was here condo worth? How much did she paid for insurnace, maintenance, homeowner's insurance, homeowner's association fee?

If you have gated community, it wouldn't be a big deal right as long as you shop, dine, etc. further away?

i've recently been buying used furnitures from the folks in that area. the area is mostly empty lots with patches of apartments and few mini malls. some apt places seem to be attached to hospitals so mostly hospital folks and, students, (cancer?) patients live there. one i saw is attached to a parking garage where you drive up to your floor. the apts in holly hall looks great with very young residents and looks quite safe and peaceful. the streets inside are quite tight tho and probably to small for enoying a walk. i think closest shopping dining area is around the reliant center which look quite alright but not as magnificent as the other ones out there

What about the area of 77054 directly next to the Reliant stadium? What's this like in terms of safety? I am possibly looking at an apartment in this section. I know its under metro rail but what areas are located nearby (stores, etc.)? Thanks.
