I just moved to Houston and am looking to buy a house in the Katy area. Can anybody recommend a good mortgage broker? Any help is appreciated.

I'd recommend using a bank versus an independant broker. I don't want to slam all mortgage brokers here, but unfortunately I've seen them tack on additional fees that end up costing the buyer hundreds of dollars. If you use a bank the fees are generally the same for all transactions. In fact, get a couple of quotes and compare them. Ask for a Good Faith Estimate which will show all of the fees associated with a loan closing.
