Instead of Orlando, comparing with Dallas!

Sounds like percentage wise of Asians, Dallas is near Houston...but sounds like most are in very select northern suburbs...from my understanding anyways.
No, Houston has twice the percentage of Asians Dallas has at almost twice the population.

The LA/OC area definitely has the numbers, but it really feels like every ethnic group is more or less isolated to their own areas. Koreans in K-Town, Japanese in J-town and Sawtelle, Vietnamese in Little Saigon, etc. I don't see why they all feel the need to self-segregate so much compared to other cities when LA is supposedly pretty "tolerant" to other cultures.
It's human nature for people with similar race (thus culture, language, background, history, food, etc.) to congregate since they "better identify" with each other and there's nothing wrong with that. It's not a utopia and what is. It is only wrong when people are not tolerant with each other based on races. For example, when I'm on vacation in a foreign country, I like to visit an asian town, not because I'm not tolerant, but simply because I miss the food! Come on, can you really go on few days without rice?

I see your point. Being an asian myself and have frequented the ethnic sections in both cities, I actually think the segregation is relatively the same in Houston as in LA. Perception can be misleading sometime . They may have shanty shops in Chinatown, but many live and mingle along with the Jones.
