I aint gay... But in houston people dont really trip on gay ppl.. I mean you will always have narrow-minded people everywhere but for the most part, "houstonians" have seen it all but montrose// inner westheimer is a area where gay people are frequent... The museum district and close to downtown (southwest or west of downtown) are all low-crime areas but they are very expensive too!! You can move to anywhere in houston and be gay, bisexual or straight.. People are more worried about crime and gas prices... And traffic!!! Haha

Default To the Couple Moving from California.

To be very honest, I am a 42 year old man with a husband at the age of 25. We too are legally married by the state of Connecticut. We live in Katy and for a short period we had lived in Cypress. I would have to say, since we are both Native to N.Y. born and raise, I am very pleased with how we are accepted here. If not just for being gay, I would have to think most would be uncomfortable with the age difference. That hasn't been the case either. Other than the separation from family and the FOUR seasons i was used to, I (we) are quite content and have never felt discriminated against but once by a leasing agent in an apartment we were looking to rent from. I believe Katy might be an area that is just far enough from the city and close enough to all your necessities. Cinco Ranch is an area in which we will be buying a home most likely. I had forgotten to mention that we have only been here in Houston for just about Three years now. [Mod edit -soliciting].

Keep bringing your ideas and points of view, we are taking them very seriously.

Thanks

I can only speak from a transsexual point of view and the Montrose & Museum District seem to be the only areas I would see being California liberal (although Sugar Land seems to be growing). I met several gay couples in the Montrose area that live happily in Houston but still have that 'gay bashing fear' in the back for their minds.

I can't tell you about the Woodlands (which seems close minded from the comments on here) but I can say Sugar Land seems iffy as far as Same-Sex openness.
