Just moved to Pearland (Silverlake subdivision, 77584). I can't seem to find a reliable broadband internet provider that provides around 6 Mbps download speeds.

- AT&T DSL has max up to 3 Mbps in Pearland.
- AT&T U-verse has a decent plan but they don't provide service where I live
- Comcast has a 6 Mbps plan (though they advertise it as "bursts" up to 15) that's ridiculously expensive at around $60/month
- Clearwire WiMAX is so inconsistent with their speeds, sometimes slowing to a crawl (I've had this for a week and ready to quit)

Any one have suggestions?

Last month I got a Comcast deal over the phone for 15 or 16mbps at $20 a month. Price guarantee for a year (not a contract), runs great.

You need to own a modem or pay additional $5 a month to lease theirs.
