That was a first for me.
The problem is that in houston they don't have all the slum in one spot its just little patches of ghetto mixed in. Most of the bad areas are not that big if you look at them its usually just a few apartment complexes that are bad and those are usually on a corner. Look at Gessner between 1091 and Bissonnet. It switches from ghetto to real nice to ghetto within a few hundred feet. Maybe thats why we never had the crime rate new orleans does we don't have 1 huge ghetto and HPD has a reputation a lot of these criminals fear HPD and the sheriffs. I am not afraid to go to downtown houston at night by myself but I won't do it in Dallas.

The most dangerous place in Houston is standing next to my sweeheart and blasting off a nice fart. Her punch in the arm is like a mule kick. Nuff said.

Nevermind, I already know.

One of the lowest crime areas in Houston is in the southeast. And the highest, yes Greenspoint.

North Houston Has Highest Crime Rate - Houston News Story - KPRC Houston (http://www.click2houston.com/news/4205106/detail.html - broken link)
reading the link it said Greenspoint had a lot of thefts, auto thefts and car thefts.
It also said the SW area had more violent crimes- rape, robbery and assault.

so while the northside may have high numbers of crime, the SW seem to have more violent crime so would rank as more dangerous

Meadows Place is becoming much worse (the area surrounding Bissonet just outside of the loop). Gulfton is always pretty bad, as well. So is Aldine and the areas southwest of it (pretty much the entire strip of Airline).

Also, Sharpstown (but really, not the neighborhood, more just the plethora of dangerous apartments).

I don't think that part of town is in the US.

I had a friend who lived in Sharpstown. Unfortunately her apartment got broken into one day and the people stole almost everything in the apartment. They even raided the fridge and stole her ham and house plants
