Houston Crime Maps | ZIP Code

Alief seems to be a lil more violent
Alief is a larger area though

I just used the main zip code, which is smaller in area than the other two listed.

77072 is larger in population, and that may account for the larger number of crimes, but the zip codes are similar in area, Alief clearly has more violent crimes though, and in my opinion that makes it more dangerous.

another parallel is that Montrose has similar numbers of reported crimes as Greenspoint but less violent crimes, so I think the violent crime reports are a better measure than the overall reports

It switches from ghetto to real nice to ghetto within a few hundred feet. Maybe thats why we never had the crime rate new orleans does we don't have 1 huge ghetto and HPD has a reputation a lot of these criminals fear HPD and the sheriffs. I am not afraid to go to downtown houston at night by myself but I won't do it in Dallas.
I would agree with that. Sharpstown, which I feel is one of the worse in overall crime, has some nice older sub-divisions with big beautiful homes.

Houston doesnt have ghettos like NY. Where everyone knows ALL of the South Bronx and ALL (every single block) of East NY, Brooklyn is Ghetto and dangerous. I would agree with the patchy description. Crime here seems to be concentrated in lower income apartment complexes on major roads.

I had a friend who lived in Sharpstown. Unfortunately her apartment got broken into one day and the people stole almost everything in the apartment. They even raided the fridge and stole her HAM and house plants
Guess you can rule out Muslim robbers.
