So, I'm curious what folks have to say. With a young daughter, we are thinking of moving to the suburbs. All things considered, what do you think is the best suburb?

Under 300K?
Best commute?
Best lifestyle?

East side of Katy. Big mature trees, great schools, blends into Houston, no "bad" areas along I-10,fast moving freeway. It's living in burbia without goiving up all things Houston.

Is that by Fry Rd and Park Row?

More like just west of Barker Cypress and east of Fry. Things off Baker Rd. Park Row is north of the Freeway.

"Green Trails" and maybe "Nottingham Country" are two of them. Green Trails is my favorite little neighborhood in all MPC-a-burbia. It has Houston Charm somehow.

The Kingwood/Atascocita area would be my choice (althought I don't live there?). I'm in the general area though. Good schools, nice neighborhoods and all of the shopping and services you need without the west side traffic. Ever driven down Fry or Clay Rd. Terrible traffic all the time. And even though they have expanded the Katy Frwy, they have also expanded the Eastex Frwy so its less than 30 min to downtown with little or no slows.

Best commute to where?
What size house approximately?
What requirements as far as "lifestyle"?

Sugarland is a good area with good district, you may want to look at Riverstone starting from 200s, Telfair, and New Terrirtory

HI!
I have been reading this forum for a long time. We live in Kingwood and love it. We really like the feel and the easy commute. 59 (seems to us anyway) after commuting on 45 to be so much better! Kingwood is small and full of trees and neighborhoods, churches and shops. The traffic is low (considering we moved here from clear lake) and the feel is relaxed. We have one child a son who loves it here. It feels safe and friendly. With the trails all through out biking and walking is encouraged and during the summer we see lots of kiddos taking advantage of the pools and trails.
If you are interested we are selling a 2005 Clean village builder home with lots of upgrades and downsizing to a smaller home but we are definately staying in kingwood! I'd be happy to send you the mls number to look it up on har.
