Sounds as if you might have some issues with the Builder. What I would recommend is a person who IS NOT associated directly with builders. Russell Strahan is an independent Engineer and TREC licensed Inspector, Stone Creek Engineering Services, Inc.. Russell is a very knowledgeable Engineer and Inspector. Russell is also a practicing Forensic Engineer and performs Expert Witness services as well. Forensic Engineers are well suited for these inspections and if an issue arises his expert witness abilities also help. Additionally Russell is a Third Party Warranty Inspector for the Texas Residential Construction Commission and will be very familiar with all of the new home build requirements. Give him a call. If he is unable to help you he can refer you to another "Independent" Inspector who can.
