I can't believe the closest movie theater is the AMC at Katy Mills or Cinemark at 99 and 10. Call me lazy, but I am used to having alot more ammenities nearby...SW Katy is nothing but single family houses for miles and miles. A 24hr fitness would be great to get back on topic...for now, I just use the community center for the neighberhood.
Yes!!!!! Thank you!!!!!
Since we moved out here, our whole family is simply amazed that there are no gas stations or anything around here.
Do you know how frustrating it is trying to fill up on gas when you're low or just trying to make a quick beer run????

My guess is that people have probably resisted the idea of a corner store/gas station b/c they believe it attracts the wrong kind of crowd.

I gotta agree with that...1093 west of 99 needs gas stations AND fast food joints. I would KILL for a Wendy's ANYWHERE in SW Katy.

Amen to a Wendy's!

The closest location is on Fry Rd near I-10.

Default Gas Stations - Retail/Commercial...

OMG people had a *cow* about the shell at Cinco Ranch BLVD. That wasn't seen as an asset... it was seen as a community *danger.*

I've lived out here for 2 years and resigned myself to it. I combine errands once a week up and down Mason Rd... my neighbor and I are great about sharing an egg, a few cups of milk, etc... rather than driving the whole 3 miles to the HEB.

Personally, I would love more retail and convience out here, but I've heard enough bellyaching out here in Cinco about the shell station, living near Target, etc., etc., to know that no one will volunteer to have the gas station, the grocery store, the fitness center backed up to *their* property.

Hey, the great thing is you can get a fantastic workout riding your bike to HEB !!
It looks as though the Cinco SW area will be blessed with another Shell gas station at the corner of Spring Green and Falcon Landing that should be opening late spring. This will be just across the street from where the new high school will eventually be built.
Now, it would be great to know what type of commercial/retail will eventually fill in the northside of Cinco Ranch blvd between Katy-Gaston and Spring Green. There is enough land there for some oversized buildings, which could possibly lead to enough space for a fitness center.

Agreeing with you all- can we get a Walgreens and a gas station please? My hub and I moved to Cinco SW a few weeks after Walmart opened- HOW DID YOU PEOPLE SURVIVE PRE WALMART??? lol. I would have gone insane if the only grocery option had been that chaotic HEB on Fry.

I was hoping that a gas station went up near the Lakes of Bella Terra center. Still could I guess...

On another note, for the last few years there has been a theory of "The Shoppes at Cinco Ranch" being built on Spring Green, which would contain a Lowes, Walgreens, LA Fitness, Stein Mart, a few banks, and a few other stores. Then again this is now old news. Does anyone know what I am talking about? I believe the developer is Thor Equities.

Exactly! There are now 3 McDonalds in a 3 mile radius (2 on Westheimer Pkwy, plus the one inside Walmart on 99). Can we get a Wendy's? Arby's? Burger King? KFC? Popeyes? Taco Cabana?

I can't wait for there to be more development further down 1093. Maybe in a few years.

Make that FOUR McDonalds in that radius...did you not see the brand new McDonalds that just opened across from HEB on Fry? Insanity.

I just saw a '24 Hour Fitness Coming Soon' a few days ago at the Shops at Bella Terra. The space is right next to Best Buy.
