Does anyone know if there are any plans for a fitness center- LA Fitness, 24 hour Fitness, etc. on the south side of I 10 in Katy? Surely someone must want to give some competition to Lifetime.

I know there is 24 Hour on Mason and a LA Fitness on the north side of the freeway, and then there's the Y on Westheimer Parkway.

Just wondering if something is going to open up around the La Centerra/Target/ HEB area?

Plenty of them. I use the 24 hour fitness. Lifetime is overrated.

I know there are plenty on the north side and the 24 hour at Mason/Highlands Knolls.

I am specifically asking if someone knows of plans for the south side west of 99 or at 99- Westheimer Parkway/Cinco Ranch Blvd/Fry Road areas of 99.

Contact the fitness centers. They may have the info.

I would not recommend LA Fitness that is near Fry. I know this isn't where you are looking, but seemed the easiest for me and we also lived off of Grand Parkway.

In a contract, but they can't keep trainers. VERY high turnover rate, and it is always someone else's fault.

I would like to see a damn gas station off of 1093 somewhere West of 99. The nearest gas station is 1093 and Mason, 99 and Fry at HEB, or inside Cinco Ranch at the Shell. From Fulshear to Mason, there are no gas stations and probably 10,000 houses. I know it's off topic some, but there is simply no commercial development in that area. I can't believe the closest movie theater is the AMC at Katy Mills or Cinemark at 99 and 10. Call me lazy, but I am used to having alot more ammenities nearby...SW Katy is nothing but single family houses for miles and miles. A 24hr fitness would be great to get back on topic...for now, I just use the community center for the neighberhood.

Lol... seriously... everyone out here only wants to live near other houses. Put in a gym, a chinese restaurant, etc... and you will tick off the people who have to live next to it. They will freak about the increased traffic noise, "crime", etc... There was much handwringing of having a 24hour Denny's nearby... And a gas station??? OMG people had a *cow* about the shell at Cinco Ranch BLVD. That wasn't seen as an asset... it was seen as a community *danger.*

I've lived out here for 2 years and resigned myself to it. I combine errands once a week up and down Mason Rd... my neighbor and I are great about sharing an egg, a few cups of milk, etc... rather than driving the whole 3 miles to the HEB.

Personally, I would love more retail and convience out here, but I've heard enough bellyaching out here in Cinco about the shell station, living near Target, etc., etc., to know that no one will volunteer to have the gas station, the grocery store, the fitness center backed up to *their* property.

Hey, the great thing is you can get a fantastic workout riding your bike to HEB !!

I agree... Lane change.
And how about some restaurants west of 99 between 1093 and cinco ranch blvd? There is plenty of land on 1093 for commercial but the only things going up are daycares. Anyone know of any planned development in the area?
