I'm surprised Quanell X didn't hitch a ride in her hair bun.

Default Sheila Jackson

I believe not just Sheila Jackson should be scrutinized Moderator cut: off topic (Republicans favorite pasttime) but voters should hold EVERYONE (politicians) in their community to the same standard. Moderator cut: off topic

Last edited by Bo; 07-11-2009 at 12:26 PM.. Reason: National politics are off topic in C-D local forums. You're welcome to discuss them in Politics & Other Controversies.

I sure as hell didn't. I can't stand that women and I hate that she represents my district.

Quannel was there....saw him strutting his stuff, but I don't think he spoke...at least, not that I saw.
SJL is the butt of so many jokes across the country! She certainly is an embarassement.

I probably fit the mold of a liberal or dem (even though there is plenty I disagree with the dem party on)... but I have a hard time defending her on this one. I guess I'm not so much concerned with her trip to the funeral (lets be honest, the shady "work" trips happen on both sides of the aisle), what really is bothering me is her wasting her CONSTITUENTS time (as well as congresses time) with this stupid MJ memorial bill (or whatever it is). I mean, the guy was an incredible performer, and I like his music, but lets get some freaking prospective. We have 2 ongoing wars, a crippling economy, millions upon millions of uninsured Americans, crumbling infrastructure, etc and you're most worried about pushing through legislation to remember a celebrity pop star. I just don't know what else to say... ugh.

I don't like any sort of separatist type behavior in political leaders representing the people but she does seem to have that separatist agenda on the things she gets really vocal about. If you are going to represent the district - then represent the district and all the people who live in it and stop the shamelss self-promoting.

She didn't do anything in Congress for Farrah (whose family actually lives in Houston) -- I mean after all; Farrah was the stuff of dreams for millions of American boys - of all races and changed a hairstyle of a generation's gender ... haha. Guess since it was "private" they didn't let her in for the cameras.

Some posts discussing national politics were deleted above, because national politics are off-topic in City-Data's local forums. Keeping it local helps keep it friendly, folks.
