Hi I am planning to go on Xmas to Santo Domingo and surprisingly flight duration is like 28 hours!!! due to not direct connections from houston. I have to fly to New York first and then back... my question is..what other alternatives (besides swimming... or other silly stuff) do I have in order to reduce the time. Other states I gues.. so basically best "commuting".

thanks

I was looking at going to the DR as well and you are correct the only way is via New York or Miami.

Seems like doing the layover in Miami would get you in the Dominican faster, but that's just going on Miami being closer than NYC.
