just moved to houston almost a month ago and am trying to restablish eeeeeeeverything. Can I please get some recommendations on best places or people to go to for the following (as far south as Sugar Land and as far north as The Medical Center would be okay):

1 - Hair highlighting. My roots are showing again so I need a touch up (and eventually down the light, need to get the highlights redone). Somewhere that does a greeeat job at an affordable price and is friendly (i.e. my last hair stylist gave me great tips on how to keep my highlights last longer) - name of person and or place would be great. In San Diego, I paid $98 for highlights (including tip; my hair is about an inch below the bust) - that was right on average for San Diego. Preferably open on weekends too (or at least a Saturday)

2 - Hair perm + layered cut. When the time comes, I will need to get a perm again. Let's see, in San Diego, average price for haircut I paid was $35 and cost of perm (for length described in #1) was $135 and she did a greaaaaaaat job!! I get so many compliments! Preferably open on weekends too (or at least a Saturday)

3 - Dentist. Let's face it, most dentists I have met are greedy. My last one was really sincere and actually helped me a lot in saving my money and recommended his friend here to be my new dentist; unfortunately, the new dentist is not a provider in my new insurance. So anybody can recommend a good dentist (who accepts United Health) who is very sincere and not greedy? Preferably open on weekends too (or at least a Saturday)

4 - Primary Care Physician. do y'all recommend any of these internal medicine physicians? I was gonna go w/ Jennifer Meyers or any of the internal medicine doctors at the Medical Clinic of Houston (http://mchllp.com/mch/MeetPhysicians.shtm) but none of them take my insurance (aetna, which is very respectable and generally accepted everywhere). i just want a nice internal medicine doctor affiliated w/ The Methodist Hospital (alternatively, an affiliation w/ Memorial Hermann would be okay) and is located in a large medical group (kind of like the medical clinic of houston) preferably female but may take males...can speak English..oh and accepts Aetna - below is what I found from Aetna.

Any recommendations or experience w/ these doctors?

1. Boehme, Elizabeth Y., MD
2. Feuer, Laurie B., MD
3. Chang, Jenny Chee Ning, MD
4. Guntupalli, Kalpalatha K., MD
5. Jaitly, Rashmi, MD
6. Katz, Marcia F., MD

We're transplanted from SD, too!

I still haven't found a hair stylist I like.

My husband loves Dr. Julie Hung - she's at the Professional Building in Sugar Land next to Methodist Hospital of SW Fwy (59). She & her staff are very attentive and more importantly, pro-active. I know they take UHC and Aetna. Her associates are both female. I've interacted with both briefly and found them to be both personable.

Laurie Feuer is AMAZING - she is such a very direct and thorough doctor. She runs her practice perfectly on time and is very attentive to her patients. I've gone to her for over 8 years and have found her to be excellent. Be warned that she can be a little straight-forward.
