I'm looking for "before & after" photos of neighborhoods, Mainly the heights & Garden oaks. I'm curious to see when my neighborhood used to look like. When I first moved here, I remember going to that blockbuster of Washington Ave (this was in 2002). Now I don't know what it is. They still have a kino's/fedex there (I think.) Does anyone have photos of Washington Avenue from 10+ years ago?

Thanks elnina! I was kind of looking for aerial shots or intersection photos from 20 years ago, but that looks like a good read too. I did find pix of the northside in this pdf, if interested. Again, thanks for the link. http://www.houstontx.gov/planning/Publications/planrpt/full_document.pdf

Aren't you the same character that posts negative crap all the time in the Florida and most notably Miami forums ?

I think you just may be one of those "ugly " people that you complain so much about ..... the best thing Houston has is its people and their friendliness ... you need to get your head out the sand or better yet get a hobby or a puppy .

No, I hardly ever post in the Miami forum. As a matter of fact, I believe the only time I've posted in the Miami forum at all this year was in a thread about Miami being a dirty city and after it was compared to Houston.

I post in the Florida forum because it's where I'm from. I lived in the Tampa Bay area for 18 years. I've lived in Houston for a year and to be honest, If the best thing Houston has is its people then Houston's in a pretty bad way. Do you live in Houston Rock Newman ? Have you ever lived in Houston ? Have you ever been here for more then a week ?

I think people are super friendly here, for being such a big city. This coming from a New Yorker.

I have lived in Miami, Chicago, LA and now Houston.

Houstonians are BY FAR the nicest people.

How would you compare Houston to LA or would you?
