Nice picture. The clouds behind the skyline almost looks more like a mountain than a cloud.

Most of the structures torn down Houston weren't in the form of the grand old "downtown" buildings you see in the historic NOLA and Galveston streetscapes. Those structures built in Houston that fit the mold are mostly still intact (see: North Main Street/Market Square).

Most buildings torn down were the SFH residentials (admittedly ornate). But, you'll still see intact examples in Audubon Place, Old 6th Ward, etc.
