Where does everyone go snowboarding? I go to winter park, leadville, and copper mountain. Leadville doesn't have many people so its all fresh and not mashed down and crunchy its usually really fluffy and soft. It only takes about 3 and a half hours to get there from work. Its about a 2 hour flight and a hour drive from Denver. You can buy a season pass for 200 they are cheap. Winter park has too many people unless you use vacation time and go in the middle of the week but their snow is not as fluffy they have ice patches. Don't go to any of the famous ones on interstate 70 they are full of snobby rich people.

If you like CO I worked in Steamboat Springs last season and it was a BLAST! A little out of the way, 3-3 1/2 hours from Denver but you can usually find cheep flights to Hayden (HDN) from Texas. We had a lot of visitors from here. It's nice and laid back, out of the way (copper and A-Basin are the closest other mountains), and has probably the friendliest people in all of CO. If you've never been its worth the trip! Oh and it has the best powder in all of the Rocky's! 400++ inches last season and 500+ in 07-08!

Do they have any of those square steel pipes you can slide on? The square ones are easier to balance on than round ones.

Winter Park has the bumps, but is not the place for deep snow, but that's where I like to go. Copper Mountain has a good mix of powder/bumps; an excellent choice. A-Basin, but it always seems to have runs closed and seems limited for a full day of skiing/boarding. Vail is nice, but is two passes from Denver, and like you said .... I think you pretty much nailed where someone from Denver would go. Now why is this in the Houston forum?

I assumed it was relevant to Houston because he was talking about a different type of snowboarding, you know, the type of snowboarding found in every warehouse district club's bathroom stalls.

Heavenly in Lake Tahoe. Only for the snobs: Those of us who brag about how much better our neighborhoods are than others around Houston.

It would be nice if we could have an ice age the climate here in houston is hot, humid, and the sunshine is extremely bright.
