Which builder would you recommend for building in Shadow Creek Ranch? Also, I notice that part of SCR is zoned to the Alvin School District, and part is to Fort Bend ISD...any comments about the two different school district as far as which ones are better?

We prefer not to be married to our mortgage payment, so would like to keep the cost of building to under $250k, and if anyone can give recommendations to builders in the area, we would really appreciate it.

We may also consider Lake Country on the other side of 288 if we decide not to build but from reading the forum, the HOA there is pretty steep..is it really worth it to pay almost $1400 a year? Looks like a nice neighborhood (at least from the outside. We didn't drive around inside since it is gated). If I am not mistaken, that area is zoned to Pearland ISD.

Any suggestions/advise/recommendations will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Thanks again!

Shadow Creek Range seems like a HUGE area, so I don't know which areas are effected and which are not.

I read that someone was thinking about moving out of there because of the smell.

That is so gross. I've heard whispers of it, but is there seriously a garbage dump in the vicinity of Shadow Creek Ranch?

This is really terrible what's happened out there. Apparently the big business special interests bought off the Missouri City Council (rather bought their silence) with tipping fees along with a number of other key groups. The State is doing nothing to protect the residents interests, and has approved the expansion which threatens the health of the families living in that area.

I'm not sure how accurate the map is.
