Are you Larry David, freak out if you have to join the Goy country club Jews? Would you be angry if your daughter came home from college with a gentile? I'd say in this case, Houston is not for you in general. It's a bad town for conservative Jews or "Levi proud, we are the chosen people" types.

What exactly are you trying to say?

If you know/have family that is Conservative Jewish, I think you know exactly what I mean.

I'm also Jewish and considering a move to this area...Spring actually. I grew up in a conservative family and I'm not sure I get it either.

I will say that I love how warm and welcoming people are sounding. Makes me excited to move!

There are a few Jewish synagogues in the Woodlands. The neighborhood as a whole is very accepting and friendly. Though as far as food is concerned, the only real Kosher food place is Katz deli. The Jewish community is expanding and there is a jewish community center for meeting others in the community, they also have a facebook page. Not sure if this helps much.

Are you yourself conservative? I had a girlfriend in college who grew up in a conservative family but only went to Shul for HH's. She became Reform.

I don't think Houston is a good town for truly conservative Jews, especially those who like to socialize mostly with other Jews.

Katz is not kosher. It's a Jewish style deli but not kosher.

I think this is a great town for (religiously) conservative leaning Jews. To each their own.

I'm not Conservative...a bit of a mix, but I am Kosher, albeit loosely. I take G-d seriously, but not religion if that makes any sense.
