Thx Synopsis, here's the info on that three block development:

It's going to be the Houston Pavilions, an entertainment complex. Here's a rendering and the website if you want more info:

Here is a comparison of photos I took in October 2006 compared to the recent ones I took in May 2007:

I'm not so sure I'm going to like Houston Pavilions, but I'm sure anyway you shoot it is going to make me feel that I was wrong, lol.

Cool place RGV, and thanks for the pics. Why wouldn't you like it mpope? Is it a multiple type entertainment venue or geared toward a specific type of entertainment. BTW, I read somewhere you have a canon RGV, what model. I just bought a 540 over the holidays and love it.

I really don't know. I mean, I'm not trying to be the sour person, but it just doesn't seem to fit in the setting of a major downtown. Maybe if the shopping was a bit more upscale, but right now, downtown developers are looking to make the area more family oriented.

I kind of like the design. Were you wanting a high-rise shopping center?

Not necessarily. Just something upscale that would give people more options than just going to the Galleria, Post Oak, or Westheimer. Kind of the way Dallas has the flagship Neimans downtown.

Downtown Denver has something similar to HP and it's doing quite well. Now if Macy's would do some badly needed renovation to its dt Houston store. The store does quite well but it looks horrible. It's a total disgrace why that store, being in a large dt location look so bad. Once again nice pics RGV.

I guess that's one thing. No disrespect, but why is Houston using the same developers as Denver? yuck

It will be interesting to see how this development impacts the entire retail scene (or lack of one) downtown. I am looking forward to seeing it happen & I hope it takes off.

It is hard to imagine that the 1200 block of Main, across the street from construction in the photos, ever looked like this...
