Recently I lost my job and was not able to pay my mortgage. In the process of this situation, my spouse suffered a debilitating disease that led to kidney and liver failure. We are currently in the process to sell the house because we cannot even afford to pay our property taxes including the water tax. The MUD has threatened that by Sept 15, our water will be shut off. Is there a way I can appeal to them or have an agency help us? T have looked over and over for a job without success. Please we need advise on this situation. Help before it's too late.

That sounds like you're talking about the monthly water bill itself, not the MUD tax. If you can not pay it, I would go to their office in person, rather than call, and see if they would work something out with you. Although it may feel like it right now, you are not alone in facing these types of issues. I would be honest with them and hopefully they will be able to help you keep the water on until you can take care of it. Good Luck

Sometimes even paying a couple dollars can reset the clock on a shutoff, you might see if that is the case and if you can afford to make a small payment that might buy you some time.
