Beeeeeautiful pics! I plan on checking out DT, Uptown, Galleria, Midtown, Rice Village, Meyerland, Museum District, Houston Heights, and Clear Lake (I know, the oddball in the list.) I'm single, looking for a singles-friendly area, and want to get a feel for which neighborhood or region of the city will be my best fit in terms of traffic, activity and atmosphere. (Of course, where I live when I move there will also be determined by where I work, so I'll have to consider that.)

I've also been looking at the general Houston pic thread here on City-Data and I must say, the photographers are sure making the city's best areas look really nice! I like the pictures of Westheimer, Downtown, Uptown, Galveston, the northside...keep up the good work!

Just by looking at pictures from NY & Chicago u understand that those r Gotham cities...
If you're implying that Houston's skyline/s are not dense then you are for the most part right with the exception of the Texas Medical Center. Houston is unique in the fact that there are no zoning laws allowing anyone to build what they want, where they want. For this very reason Houston has many multiple skylines & skyscrapers scattered about the city at random unlike in NYC or Chicago where everything is compacted into one continuous skyline, but for over all skyscraper count Houston still has the 3rd tallest US skyline behind those two cities.

There are some views around town of Houston's skyline that give off the illusion there is one continuous skyline when in fact its just multiple skylines miles apart merging together on the distant horizon, but it still looks amazing...almost like a shorter Chicago.

And you can look in the history books and see both cities have over 100 years of downtown development over Houston. It is inevitable that Houston will eventually connect downtown, galleria, and medical center skylines. New York will become the second city.
