And I agree with Xodox-- If you pay the full amount of your ticket when you have other options available you're a moron.

I've done deferred adjudication before. It often costs more than what paying the ticket would have cost, but it's worth it to not have the ticket on your record. During the "deferred" period, you cannot get another ticket in order to have that ticket dismissed.

And you have to take defensive driving anyway unless you can prove you have taken it within the last 12 months. Generally, people only request deferred adjudication because they have already had a ticket dismissed with defensive driving and therefore have taken the class within the last 12 months.

They do not grant deferred adjudication in certain cases, like if you have a bad driving record or were speeding over 25 mph the posted limit.
